Bull by the Horns Cabernet Sauvignon
Everything about this wine is big and powerful. There's a ton of complexity on the nose, with aromas like baked blackberries (e.g., blackberry cobbler), vanilla, black currant, black licorice, black plum and an herbal garrigue. The flavors are rich and concentrated, offering things like baked blackberry, cherry, plum, dark chocolate and baking spices. Vibrant acidity makes the flavors mouthwatering and a velvety mouthfeel makes this wine feel rich. The finish is long, long, long with dark berry and baking spice flavors.

Sometimes you want a red wine that has some oomph to it! Maybe when you’re having steak or burgers, or even just some rich cheddar cheese. Cabernet Sauvignon is a good wine to choose on those occasions. Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles makes an even better choice.

The challenge, though, is to find a great Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles within my self-imposed price limit of $25 per bottle. This one comes in right at that mark!

Paso Robles is an amazing region for Cabernet Sauvignon, boasting the greatest diurnal shift of any California wine region. The temperatures get hot during the day but can drop 40-50 degrees at night. This helps ripen the grapes while preserving acidity… which then results in lively, flavorful wines. Such is the case with Bull by the Horns.

This wine is made by the Paso Robles based winemaker McPrice Myers under his Hard Working Wines brand.
