Corvezzo Rosé Prosecco
A perfect balance of citrus, strawberry and floral aromas make up the nose of this wine. The flavors are much the same, although the lemon/lime citrus notes are a touch more dominant than the berry on the palate. It's not super bubbly, which I would normally complain about except the acidity on this wine is stellar and plays well with the more restrained bubbliness. There's a really nice salinity that shows up on the finish, along with those citrus and berry flavors. This Rosé Prosecco is outright delicious.

Although the Corvezzo winery has been around since 1960, it might be a new name to you as their wines are making their debut the United States as of this year. Origins Organic Imports, which focuses on importing organically grown, value-priced wines, added three wines from Corvezzo to their portfolio this year — including this Extra Dry Rosé Prosecco.

Last week I reviewed another of their wines, the Corvezzo Prosecco (i.e., their non-rosé Prosecco), where I highlighted their organic farming practices. Their wines are certified as fully organic in Europe, covering both viticulture and production in the winery. But, due to different regulations, the U.S. labels state: “Made with organic & vegan grapes.” That’s right, vegan. This means no animal products are used in the farming of the grapes or in the production of the wine.

In addition to Corvezzo potentially being a new name to you, the idea of a rosé Prosecco may also be new to you as 2020 was the first year this style of Prosecco was allowed by the Prosecco DOC.

All of Corvezzo’s wines are made using only grapes grown on their 380 acre estate. The Rosé Prosecco is made using 85% Glera and 15% Pinot Noir, as prescribed by DOC regulations.
