Parducci Small Lot Chardonnay – Fantastic
In my recent review of Emiliana Natura Unoaked Chardonnay I shared my affinity for chardonnay without oak. But while I love a good unoaked chardonnay, I’m not entirely opposed to having some oak in my chardonnay.
When it comes to oaking wines, balance is the key and this wine demonstrates that well. With 80% of this wine aged in stainless and only 20% seeing new French oak, the Parducci Small Lot Chardonnay offers the benefits of oak without overdoing it.
Pear aromas establish the base of the nose for this wine. Layered on top of that are honeysuckle and apple aromas. It’s really well balanced and enticing. It’s delicious on the palate, delivering rich pear, apple and peach flavors with a bit of vanilla rounding it out on the finish. And that finish is a long one. The acidity is great and the mouthfeel is nice. Overall, it’s fantastic.
