Thanks for the nice comment on my blog. There are, indeed, a lot of good wines to be discovered around there. One of the most interesting experiments I've seen is Clos OUvert, where young French winemakers have bought up or leased old vineyards, and are making very natural wines with, among other things, païs, a disappearing traditional variety. Not sure about US distribution, though.

Here is my contribution to WBW#52.

I went through a gaggle of Cheap Chilean Reds as a warmup as well. Scroll back on my site for a few of them. Note that I was able to find one, a $9.99 cab from the Lumari Valley, which is slightly north of nowhere, and way off the beaten path of the Chilean wine industry.
